We had the pleasure of contracting with America’s Custom Home Builders, Inc. for our major home improvement project.

Our project scope included new flooring throughout the whole house, crown moldings installed in every room and painting the whole inside of the house.

Dealing with Mrs. Andrews and Mr. Lazar from the quoting process, creative recommendations, costs savings, project management to completion was tremendous.

Both them and their staff were extremely professional, always reachable and very attentive to us and our project needs.  We are in the process of retaining them for our new basement project.

Kathy and Ted, the owners of America’s Custom Home Builders, just completed a high-quality, beautiful single-family home in Lincoln Park Chicago for our family. A friend of ours recommended them and we included them in the selection/bidding process. The communication from the start was superior to all other builders and pricing was also the most competitive. We finished the house on time and on budget, which is somewhat unheard in this market, and we love the finished product. Kathy is very patient and very well organized, and Ted is very knowledgeable and straight forward about everything in the construction business. All the subs they employee are great individuals and very accommodating. We had to deal with the bad neighbors, the painful city of Chicago, and other issues which are common for this type of project. I cannot imagine how we would have done it with anyone else. Kathy and Ted were always patient and found a solution. In addition, the suppliers they select are superior and punctual. I would recommend ACHB to anyone looking to build or renovate in the city or the suburbs.

Ted & Kathy we’re just great to work with. They built a pergola on my back deck and it came out beautiful. They were onsite sometimes twice a day and were extremely responsive. They both have a great eye for detail and brought so much value and experience to the project. Their cost was most competitive and the project was finished on time. They are just enjoyable people to work with. I have already recommended it to several of my friends.

When we were looking for a home in Lincolnwood, we found a house that was particularly attractive, and the finishes were the high level we were looking for. We wanted a elevator in our new home, and as it turned out, that house could not accommodate one. We learned that the house had been built by Ted Lazar of America’s Custom Homebuilders. We bought a lot in the Lincolnwood Towers area and contacted Ted Lazar. The project required tearing down the existing house and building an expanded version of the original house, with an elevator, of course.

Ted introduced us to his partner, Kathy Andrews, who shares running projects and handles many of the myriad details, including all the numbers. They took on this project with zeal. The existing house was down, the new foundation in, and the house framed and closed-in by two months later, despite starting the job in the November weather.

We were out of town during most of the construction, but Ted and Kathy kept us informed with emails and photos. They kept us in the decision process all along as we selected finishes, fixtures, and appliances. When we were back in late Spring we met most of the trades that had worked on the house. Ted has a fine group of talented sub-contractors, most originally from Europe, who do top quality work.

Throughout the project, Kathy always had all the numbers ready, available, and she always had them right. She hands on with the many details necessary to wrap up the work and get the required approvals for our eventual occupancy. She and Ted are an awesome team.

This was a large project; it was brought in on budget and within a tight schedule. Any smaller project would be a piece of cake for this terrible twosome. I highly recommend them for any size project you have.

Honestly, Integrity, and prompt service, that’s what you get when you hire America’s Custom Home Builders. They recently completed the expansion of my dental office which was very difficult decision since I could not afford interruptions. Well Just for the record my entire office was rebuilt inside out without one day of business interruption. I am very pleased with the work performed and would recommend them without any hesitation.

My sister and I were looking to build a house in Lincolnwood, we got America’s Custom Home Builders name from a friend. From beginning to end, the process was very smooth. They showed us a few of their projects and then when it was time to make selections, they walked us through the process and we went to the different stores to select all of our exterior and interior materials. Prior to any of the work being done, we got to walk through with each of the subcontractors so we knew exactly what was going to be done. Our home got finished when promised and the quality of work was amazing! We are very happy with America’s Custom Home Builders and have recommended them to all of our family and friends.

Ted is one of the best builders/contractors around in Illinois. I have been following his work in building new construction homes and remodeling for over 10 years his work is outstanding and very detail. He shows all of his great work on his website and updates his projects frequently! Ted goes the extra mile for you, and treats you like a personal friend, not just a customer. Highly recommended!

I have done business with many builders and contractors in the past, but I have never worked with anyone as honest, skillful, and creative as Ted and his company. It is obvious from looking at many of Ted’s projects (and from what his own clients have told me) that he takes great pride and care in his craftsmanship and treats each project as if he was building it for himself. I cannot recommend America’s Custom Home Builders highly enough and they truly are a class act.

Amazing work from true professionals in the construction field!!! I had my kitchen and bathroom completely remodeled and love all the work that was done! They were quick, clean and reasonably priced! I have recommended this company to all my family and friends! When I can, I will be calling Ted to come back to do my other bathroom that is desperately needing a remodel!!
