New Construction on Mango, Morton Grove

On a prime piece of property in Morton Grove, two outdated houses stood side by side, ready to make way for something extraordinary. The project began with a full-scale demolition, carefully dismantling the structures to clear the land for an expansive 10,000-square-foot custom home. The new residence began to take shape, featuring a grand entryway, soaring ceilings, and a glass elevator designed for both luxury and functionality. What once was two aging homes transformed into a stunning estate, seamlessly blending sophistication, craftsmanship, and innovation into a masterpiece built to stand the test of time.

The curved bridal staircase is custom built out of cherry wood.

The tubing below the concrete is being installed.

We are building the platforms that will be covered with carpet for 3 rows of seating.

The pavers are made from the same stone that is on the house.  It is called Valder’s Stone.

We are redirecting the water to the pop-up emitters in the yard so that the rain water will be way from the house.

These are custom cabinets built by Specialty Woodworking Inc.  All of the cabinets in the house are custom.

We have applied a waterproofing membrane in the showers and have installed the electric floor heat.

We are installing Brazilian cherry hardwood throughout the house.

We have installed the Valder’s stone and limestone on the bay areas on our Custom Home in Morton Grove.

The arched window has been put together and is now ready to install in the front.

We had to use a bobcat with a concrete carrier to bring the concrete to the back yard patio and garage.

The gravel has been compacted and the wire mesh has been laid down and we can now pour the concrete.

We have completed the stone work, poured the concrete chimney caps and installed the chimney pots on our Custom Home project in Morton Grove.

We have sprayed the closed cell insulation at our new construction in Morton Grove.

We are installing the limestone around the windows, the chimneys and the stone on the back side of the house.  We are using buff colored Valders Stone from Eden Stone in Wisconsin.

Drying in the roof means making it so that water falling on the roof does not penetrate and enter the house.  Since we are going to install Davinci synthetic slate on the roof, a special self adhering membrane underlayment is installed on the roof.

After the framing of the 2nd floor ceiling joists the roof rafters and plywood are installed.

We have installed the radiant tubing over the wire mesh in the basement and are now pouring the concrete for the slab.

The second floor deck is has been built at Mango in Morton Grove.

The underground plumbing has been completed and inspected.  Then crushed gravel was spread evenly over the whole basement floor and the insulation/vapor barrier has been laid over the gravel and taped.  Then we installed a concrete reinforcement mesh on the top.  Now we are ready for the radiant heat tubing to be installed.

We are raising the interior first floor walls at Mango.  The walls are built on the ground and then lifted into place and nailed.
